Becoming a Member
Orientation Classes
Visitors and friends of the congregation who wish to deepen their connection to UUCP can enter through a ‘path toward membership.’ This process usually begins by attending one or more orientation sessions led by our Minister. These orientations provide an opportunity to become more acquainted with Unitarian Universalism and learn more about UUCP.
It is a great opportunity to meet with our Minister, as well as other friends and established members of the congregation. Orientation sessions are also an excellent forum for asking questions in an informal setting, usually held at the home of one of our members.
Those who are on the path toward membership are also encouraged to discover ways to become more actively involved with congregational life. Opportunities include participating in one of our Ministries , teaching in our Religious Education program, attending social events (e.g. Circle Suppers, Jazz Event) and contributing to Sunday morning services.
New Member Sundays
In addition to active participation in congregational life, those who wish to become a member are also invited to participate in one of several New Member Sundays held throughout the year. As part of Sunday service, we introduce you to the congregation and ask you to sign our Membership Book. In addition, Members are asked to make a minimum financial contribution as a sign of commitment and support for the work of this congregation.
